Nitham Oru Vaanam, which hit the screens a month ago, was one of the feel-good dramas to have come out in Tamil in recent times. The film directed by Ra Karthik opened to decent response from critics and the audience.

It was released along with Love Today and Coffee With Kadhal, and hit the headlines a few days later when none other than Mani Ratnam expressed his liking for the movie. Its lead actor Ashok Selvan and Karthik had expressed excitement on meeting the maverick filmmaker. Live life to the fullest

Arjun, the protagonist of the film is an introvert, who also suffers from OCD. His happiness knows no bounds when he's engaged to a girl. However, she dumps him for her ex-lover, leaving Arjun devastated. After reeling over the break-up for a while, he decides to go on a tour to meet a few people and to explore life in different ways. It is only after the awe-inspiring journey he realizes that the ultimate happiness lies in living life to the fullest.

Step out of your comfort zone

Arjun's obsessive compulsive disorder has always affected his personal and professional life, though he has come to terms with it. But the situation he goes through makes him travel to different states. Though he isn't comfortable travelling to unknown and untidy places, he sets out to meet two couples after reading their moving stories through an acquaintance. He understands that he can't be in his comfort zone forever.

Life has to move on

One of the life-changing stories he comes across has a single mother (Shivathmika Rajashekar/Sshivada) raising her daughter even as she chases her dreams. Her relentless determination keeps him motivated to look at life in a different perspective. Another story has a cheerful young woman (Aparna Balamurali/Eesha Rebba) battling cancer with the support of her husband. Arjun figures out the need to bury his past to move forward with his life.

Share your happiness with others

He meets Subha (Ritu Varma), a daring girl, during his journey and the two get along well. Arjun learns to let go of his ego and other inferior qualities from her on the course of their travel. He also goes on to become a caring person after interacting with many people during the trip. Thanks to Subha, he recognizes the importance of giving and sharing happiness with others.

Crush your Insecurities

Arjun, who has always been a thorough professional, used to be harsh to his colleagues and was a boring person. He was the kind of person who found it annoying to open the door of his office cab owing to his OCD behaviour. But the incredible experiences he gained from his journey made him let go of his insecurities and became an instantly likeable person among his colleagues and family members.

Apart from sincere performances from artists, what stood out in the film are splendid visuals by Vidhu Ayyanna and music by Gopi Sundar.
