Debutant filmmaker's Nitham Oru Vaanam, starring Ashok Selvan in the lead, hit the screens on November 4, and had opened to decent reports from critics and the audience. Touted as a breezy feel-good flick, the film stars Ritu Varma, Aparna Balamurali and Shivathmika Rajashekar essaying female leads in it.
The movie has been released in Telugu as well under the title Aakasham. Its story revolves around the three phases in the life of an introvert. How he overcomes the various struggles during a travel forms the rest of the story.
Dulquer Salmaan was initially supposed to play the lead in the movie, but the project got stalled for a while. The makers then revived the film, but with a new cast. Vidhu Ayyanna and Anthony have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the movie which has music composed by Gopi Sundar.
The movie will drop on Netflix on December 2; the makers have come up with an official announcement. Though it was known earlier that the OTT giant had acquired its digital rights, they didn't reveal the online release date.
Nitham Oru Vaanam is Ashok Selvan's fifth outing this year after Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal, Manmadha Leelai, Hostel and Vezham. He was also seen in a cameo in Tollywood movie Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam. The movie was released along with Love Today and Coffee With Kadhal in theatres.
Ashok's portrayal of a character who suffers from OCD, engaging screenplay, inspiring music and stunning visuals have been garnering positive reviews from movie lovers. Krithika Nelson has penned lyrics for songs in the movie which has been bankrolled by Sreenidhi Sagar and P Rupak Pranav Tej.
