The recently held Vikrant Rona media event in Mumbai has been making the news for myriad reasons. Right from Salman Khan, the guest of the hour, shaking a leg with Kiccha Sudeep and Jacqueline Fernandez and even nailing the signature step of the Ra Ra Rakkamma song to the endearing displays of camaraderie between Khan, Sudeep, and Riteish Deshmukh, there's lots to talk about the glittery event. At the same, Salman Khan also made a rather special announcement, although inadvertently, about one of his much-awaited projects which has got everyone super excited!
Yes, one among the many who were in attendance at the media event was popular director Anees Bazmee, director of films like No Entry, Ready, and others. Salman Khan and Anees Bazmee are currently slated to reunite for No Entry 2, the sequel to the 2005 film (with Anil Kapoor too part of it) and while the project has been on the cards for quite some time, the team is yet to give an official nod regarding the same. However, trust Salman Khan to be super candid and nonchalantly drop hints about No Entry 2, also confirming that it is definitely in the offing.
Addressing Anees Bazmee at the Vikrant Rona event, Salman said: “There’s another writer-director sitting among us who is delivering 100 crore hit films, that too in the comedy space! He will do the same with No Entry after this and make it 300 crores”.
Soon after this, netizens couldn’t help but be thrilled about the confirmation that the comedy sequel is finally getting underway!
Anees Bazmee, who began his career in Hindi cinema in the ‘80s as a screenwriter, turned to film direction later on and has delivered several blockbusters – Welcome, Singh is King, Ready, and many more. His most recent release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Karthik Aryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, is said to have grossed over Rs. 250 crores at the box office to become one of this year’s biggest successes.
Anees Bazmee had recently revealed that he is likely to take No Entry 2 on floors in December of 2022 but would have to wait for Salman Khan’s schedule to clear up. Khan, as many already know, is reprising his role as the Bajrangi Bhakt Pawan in the sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is likely to take off soon: Baahubali and RRR writer K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also wrote the story of the 2015 film, is said to have already locked the storyline of the upcoming sequel. More updates to follow soon.
