Actor-singer Shruti Haasan is quite thrilled about her upcoming movie The Eye. She took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the film, which is making quite a mark in several prestigious international film festivals. She takes a lot of pride in being part of this film, which is evident in her heartfelt note.

"THE EYE Sometimes you get to be a part of something magical, emotional and truthful - this was that special movie for me - I can’t wait for all of you to see it The Eye has been nominated for best director @daphneschmon and best dop @jameschegwyn at the Greek international film screenings - nominated for best film at the London independent film festival The eye was filmed in corfu and made with love and care for the environment as well , the entire cast and crew worked toward reducing the environmental and carbon impact using the green shoots sustainability platform.," she wrote on her Instagram page.

The Eye, an important film in Shruti Haasan's career

According to reports, The Eye revolves around a young widow who travels back to her native island to shatter the ashes of her husband. However, her life takes a dramatic turn and she is forced to confront the dark forces within her when she learns the nature of her husband's death. The narrative seems to also embed a supernatural element as the widow is presented with a choice to bring her husband back.

Shruti Haasan also presided over the film's presentation at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Talking about her character Diana, she revealed that she has played the most powerful character of her career yet.

"When I read the script, I felt it had the voice of what you will like as a woman. It's just emotionally brave. There are certain places we avoid within ourselves and this film goes there. And to have the opportunity to play that part is incredible. I had the most amazing time (doing this film)," she said during an interview at Cannes.

Besides The Eye, Shruti Haasan will also next be seen in Salaar. Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar stars Telugu superstar Prabhas in the lead role. Bankrolled by Hombale Films, Salaar will arrive in cinemas on December 22.
