It was over a month ago when news about Imtiaz Ali was working on his next Netflix show surfaced over a month ago. Fans were eager to know more, and it was fascinating that the filmmaker now has three projects in the pipeline—two movies and this newly confirmed series. His upcoming films include one starring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah and another titled Idiots of Istanbul, featuring Fahadh Faasil and Tripti Dimri.
The Netflix series, which reunites Ali with the streaming platform after She and Amar Singh Chamkila, is his third project and marks the first time the filmmaker has announced multiple projects together. Following the resounding success of Amar Singh Chamkila, Netflix and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali have joined forces once again to explore contemporary human emotions through O Saathi Re. Produced by Window Seat Films and Reliance Entertainment, the series strengthens Netflix’s creative collaboration with Ali. With a talented ensemble cast—Aditi Rao Hydari, Avinash Tiwary, and Arjun Rampal—O Saathi Re promises to be an intricate and deeply moving love story.
Imtiaz Ali, renowned for his rich storytelling and profound portrayals of relationships in Tamasha, Rockstar, Jab We Met, and Love Aaj Kal, takes on multiple roles in this series. He will serve as the Creator, Writer, and Showrunner while also being an Executive Producer alongside Mohit Choudhary. Direction responsibilities will be handled by Arif Ali, who previously directed the Netflix series She.
A Grand Netflix Homecoming for the Cast
The romantic drama also marks a major Netflix return for its stellar cast. Aditi Rao Hydari is back on the platform after mesmerizing audiences with Heeramandi.
