O2 Twitter review: Netizens praise Nayanthara for her earnest performance in this okayish thriller

O2, starring Nayanthara in the lead, started streaming on Disney+ Hotstar a few hours ago. The survival thriller has been directed by debutant GS Viknesh while SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu have bankrolled it under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Movie buffs took to Twitter as soon as they completed watching the much-awaited film.

Fans of Nayanthara seem to be excited watching their favourite star headlining another thriller after Netrikann. They unanimously say that the actress has delivered her best and stands out in the movie which could have been better. Child actor Rithvik, who is popular for his YouTube videos, has also been receiving appreciation for his performance.     

On the other hand, there are those who aren't impressed with the film's execution and screenplay. They opine that the makers missed a huge opportunity. According to them, the director could have come up with a more engaging screenplay and avoided predictable portions and logical loopholes.

The movie which is streaming in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam has RNR Manohar, Bharath Neelakantan, Murugadoss and Jaffer Idukki among others essaying pivotal characters. Their performances and their characterizations are also receiving mixed response from film buffs.

This is the third direct release for Nayanthara in Hotstar during the pandemic era, after Mookuthi Amman and Netrikann. The technical aspects of O2 have been garnering praise from cinephiles. Tamizh A Azhagan has handled cinematography and Selva RK is in charge of editing.

AS Sudhesh Kumar and Vishal Chandrasekhar have composed stunt choreography and music respectively for the movie which revolves around the struggles of a few passengers in a bus after the vehicle meets with a horrifying accident owing to a landslide. How a mother tries to save her son who suffers from breathing problems despite the bus buried under debris forms the crux of the film.
