October 2025: Three major Tamil films confirmed to hit theatres for Diwali season

With October, comes the festive season, and naturally, more Tamil films will be lined up for releases. This time too, there are three major Tamil films that are scheduled to hit just the weekend before Diwali. Featuring young stars with massive fanbase, these three Tamil films are scheduled to hit big screens on October 17.

3 Tamil films confirmed to hit theatres for Diwali

Dude

Dude features actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role. Pradeep has already proved his theatrical success with films like Love Today and Dragon, and enjoys a massive fanbase among the audience. Directed by Kirtheeswaran in his directorial debut, there is Premalu-fame Mamitha Baiju playing the female lead, apart from Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, Dravid Selvam, and others. The first single Oorum Blood from Dude, has already set out a youthful energy radiating from the project. Sai Abhyankkar has scored the music.

Bison

Bison is a sports drama which features Dhruv Vikram in the lead role. The actor, son of Vikram, is gracing the big screens after a really long time. Based on kabbadi, filmmaker Mari Selvaraj is wielding the megaphone. Bison is one of the expected projects this year, and has some known faces in the cast, including Pasupathy, Ameer, Lal, Anupama Parameswaran, and Rajisha Vijayan. Actors Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhan, and Anurag Arora are also present in Bison.

Diesel

Diesel stars Harish Kalyan, whose last couple of films have delivered more than promised; Lubber Pandhu and Parking. Written and directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy, it is touted to be an action drama. Diesel has Athulyaa Ravi as the female lead, along with Vinay Rai, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunaas, Ramesh Tilak, Kaali Venkat, Vivek Prasanna, Sachin Kedhekar, Zakir Husain, Thangadurai, KPY Dheena, Apoorva Singh and others. The technical crew includes music by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, with cinematography handled by MS Prabhu and Richard M Nathan. San Lokesh is the editor.
