Fahadh Faasil has been hogging much attention these days, with his Aavesham dance moves going viral, as the actor got busy promoting Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan. The trailer promises a vibrant film is on the cards for Onam. Now the plot of Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira has been revealed, giving us a sneak peek into what the movie is all about and its connection to the horse (Kuthira from the title), giving Korean rom-com vibes.

What is the plot of Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira

Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira has been certified UA 13+ by the CBFC, as per the censor certificate shared online. It also includes the plot summary, which tells us the film revolves around Abi and Nidhi (played by Fahadh and Kalyani) who are set to tie the knot.

On the eve of the wedding, Nidhi tells Abi that he has to come to the wedding on a horseback. Abi manages to get a horse and come to the wedding riding on it. However, the wedding festivities and the camera flash startle the horse. Abi ends up falling from the horse, hitting his head and slipping into a coma.

This does give off Korean rom-com vibes, as there are popular K-dramas that revolve around sweet romances with a fate twist or the lead character slipping into a coma, such as those depicted in Still 17 or Are You Human Too? 

During the film's promotions, Kalyani did remark that OKCK comes across as a Korean rom-com story narrated in a Woody Allen or Wes Anderson style. But for last year's Premalu, Malayalam has not seen a hit rom-com film, and OKCK does look like a strong contender.

Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira releases in theatres on August 29, 2025, a day after Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam. Another Kalyani-starrer Lokah also hits theatres on August 28, 2025.
