The film stars Sri Simha Koduri, Samuthirakani, Preeti Asrani in key roles
Producers of Samantha Akkineni's Oh Baby, Suresh Babu and Sunitha Tati of Suresh Productions and Guru Films, are teaming up for the third time for the con-comedy Dongalunnaru Jaagratha, starring Sri Simha Koduri, Preeti Asrani and Samuthirakhani in pivotal roles. Dongalunnaru Jaagratha has already commenced the shoot, while the project was officially announced today. Satish Tripura is directing the film. The two production houses are also associated with the Telugu remake of Midnight Runners (along with Kross Pictures), headlined by Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas.
Suresh Productions adopted an innovative promotional strategy to announce the filming of Dongalunnaru Jaagratha, by releasing a funny video where a memory card is stolen at the shooting location. In the video, actor Sri Simha requests permission from the director Satish Tripura to attend a friend's wedding, promising to return within a couple of hours. The director mildly rejects his request, sharing that it is complicated to shoot the scene with the entire cast again and that it would be a must for him to be there at the location. A disappointed Sri Simha isn't left with any choice.
The scene later shifts to the shoot location, where an assistant complains that he's unable to find the memory card to commence the shot. Every person on the set is clueless about the memory card and the shoot is delayed for the same reason. Sri Simha uses this excuse to attend his friend's wedding, while it's later revealed that the actor himself had stolen the memory card. Dongalunnaru Jaagratha is a story revolving around a gang of robbers and the makers came up with a quirky idea to announce the film.
Yeshwanth C is roped in as the film's cinematographer. Dongalunnaru Jaagratha will have music by Rohit Kulkarni. Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director and Garry BH is on board as the editor. More details about the film are awaited.
