The makers of Oh My Dog had announced recently that the film will have a direct release on Amazon Prime Video on April 21. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika's 2D Entertainment, the movie has been directed by Sarov Shanmugam. Arnav Vijay, son of Arun Vijay, makes his acting debut with the project.

Interestingly, Arun and his father Vijaykumar, too, will be seen playing important roles in the feel-good drama which has Mahima Nambiar and Vinay Ram, too, essaying crucial characters. The story of the film revolves around Arjun, a school-going kid and an adorable god named Simba.

Samantha released the movie's trailer on her Twitter page with the caption, "A beautiful story of friendship, loyalty and unconditional love! (sic)." The one-and-a-half minute video provides a sneak peek into the film's plot. A young kid develops a liking for a small dog and requests his parents to bring it home.

However, they are completely against the idea of fostering a pet. How the boy convinces them to bring the dog home seems to be the conflict of the story. Oh My Dog marks Arun Vijay's OTT debut; he is currently shooting for another project which is meant for a leading OTT platform.

Oh My Dog has music direction by Nivas K Prasanna and cinematography by Gopinath. Meghanathan and Michael have handled editing and art direction respectively for the movie which has action choreography by Stunt Silva.

The film is the first production venture of 2D Entertainment this year. It was initially expected to drop on the OTT platform in December, but was postponed owing to reasons best known to the makers. The critically-acclaimed Jai Bhim was the previous outing of the production house.
