Vinay Rajkumar’s Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe, which is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, albeit with Kannada audio only and English subtitles, will shortly be accessible to other audiences in the south, who’d like to see it in their language. Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe has been censored in its Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu versions, which, according to director Suni, will be on Prime shortly. The dubbed versions, he adds, have also been prepped for the film’s TV premieres.
Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe had its Kannada television debut on April 14 on Star Suvarna, with the dubbed versions to head to its sister channels. The dates for the television premieres in the other languages will be communicated in due course of time.
Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe marked Suni’s first collaboration with Vinay. The rom-com had the actor play an aspiring music director, Athishay, working as an assistant to the assistant of a popular music director, Sadhu Kokila (Sadhu Kokila playing himself). Athishay’s big musical aspiration apart, his heart longs for the girl whose voice matches its rhythm.
When he only hears a certain voice, but doesn’t see the person it belongs to, he makes an assumption, which has him cross paths with aspiring singer Madhura (Mallika Singh). As their relationship progresses, Athishay and Madhura realize that the basis of their ‘bond’ was not on solid ground.
Amid all this, Athishay is also forced into marrying his family friend Anuraga (Swathishta Krishnan), a feisty journalist, whose heart beats for a man who puts the needs of others ahead of his own. She thinks she has ‘found’ this special someone when an unknown man pays her hospital bills after she has a freak accident. Will Athishay and Anuraga find what their hearts truly desire?
A Veer Samarth musical, Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe has a few hit numbers. The film also stars Rajesh Nataranga, Aruna Balraj, among others.
