Directed by newcomer Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, Operation Valentine is scheduled to be released in theatres soon
The release date for Varun Tej's historical action thriller Operation Valentine has been pushed yet again. The film, which was supposed to be released in February, now has a new release date. Actor Varun Tej took to his official X handle to announce that his action thriller will be released in theatres on March 1.
The new poster for Operation Valentine shared by the actor features a fighter missile, on which it is written, “In cinemas, 1st March 2024 worldwide.” Bankrolled by Sony Pictures International Productions, the film was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. Varun Tej plays the main lead and Manushi Chhillar is the female lead in this bilingual film; this is her Telugu debut.
Directed by newcomer Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, Operation Valentine revolves around the life of an Air Force officer. According to the makers, the film is based on real incidents and is an ode to the Indian Air Force. The teaser features a one-liner: “India saw its darkest hour on the day of love. Witness one of the biggest airstrikes,” which hints that the movie is based on the Pulwama attacks that took place on February 14, 2019. Both Varun Tej Konidela and Manushi Chhillar reportedly play IAF officers in the film.
On Republic Day, in a candid conversation with former Wing Commander Myneni Srinath, Varun Tej opened up about the making of Operation Valentine. The actor revealed that the film is extremely technical and that the makers closely observed the nuances of the Indian Air Force to make the film look authentic. “It is for the first time in Telugu cinema that a film is being made on the Indian Air Force. I am extremely thrilled about this,” Varun Tej had said.
Srinath had then expressed his excitement over watching, saying that he had been waiting for a movie to be made on the Air Force.
