The duo won the Academy Award for original-song for the title song from No Time To Die

This year’s Oscars are currently ongoing at the Dolby Theatre and the Oscar for best Original Song has been handed out. The duo of Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell have won the Academy Award in this category.
Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell won the Oscar for the song ‘No Time To Die’, which was the title song of the latest James Bond film titled No Time To Die. This is the third consecutive song from the spy action franchise to win the award.
Adele won the award in 2012 for Skyfall and Sam Smith for Writing’s on the Wall in 2015 for Spectre. No Time To Die was written three years ago and the song was released back in February 2020.
The brother-sister duo had won the Grammy and the Golden Globe awards for their song. Eilish, only 20, becomes the second youngest to win the award. Songwriter Markéta Irglová won the award back in 2007, at the age of 19.
‘Dos Oruguitas’ from Encanto, ‘Be Alive’ from King Richard, ‘Somehow You Do’ from Four Good Days and ‘Down To Joy’ from Belfast were the other songs that were nominated for the award.
The duo also performed their Academy Award winning song on stage, ahead of winning the big prize.
No Time To Die, which became the 25th movie in the iconic James Bond franchise, is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. Starring Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Rami Malek, Naomie Harris and Christoph Waltz among others, the movie hit theaters in September 2021.
