South films have been seeing an influx of senior Hindi actors in recent years. Popular Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who was recently seen in the Telugu film The Raja Saab, could be part of another South film too. The Saajan actor is likely to make his Malayalam debut with the upcoming film Ottakomban, starring Suresh Gopi, as per a report on Kerala Kaumudi. Here’re the details.
Is Sanjay Dutt making his Malayalam debut?
Ottakomban is an upcoming Malayalam movie, starring actor-politician Suresh Gopi in the lead role. The film directed by Mathews Thomas has been in the making for long. Now, the Malayalam publication has reported that Sanjay Dutt could be seen in a guest role in the Suresh Gopi film. This would mark his first Malayalam film. Sanjay Dutt is said to appear in the climax scene and will act alongside Suresh Gopi, the Kerala Kaumudi report stated. The shooting of the long-delayed Ottakomban is expected to be wrapped up with the filming of the climax.
Not just Sanjay Dutt, popular actress Genelia Deshmukh, who earlier made her Malayalam debut with the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Urumi way back in 2011, could also make a brief appearance in the upcoming film, according to the report. Music director S Thaman has also been roped in for the Suresh Gopi-starrer. Earlier, reports had claimed the film would have music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, best known for the Hindi film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. However, there has been no official update on Ottakomban recently.
