Padakkalam release date: Here's when Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharafudheen's film will hit theatres

Suraj Venjaramoodu, who has an interesting line-up of films, has revealed the release date of his movie with Sharafudheen, titled Padakkalam. The upcoming Malayalam film, directed by Manu Swaraj, will hit the theatres as a summer release this year. The actor also shared the first-look poster of Padakkalam. Suraj Venjaramoodu reveals Padakkalam release date

Taking to Instagram, Suraj Venjaramoodu has unveiled the first-look poster of Padakkalam, revealing the release date. Padakkalam, also starring Sharafudheen, will hit theatres on May 2, 2025. 

The first-look poster features the two lead actors of Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharafudheen. While Suraj’s character seems to be playing with what appears to be two Pakkida (a traditional form of dice), Sharafudheen’s character is seen lunging forward to it. A bunch of youngsters are seen in the background, including Sandeep Pradeep and Niranjana Anoop. 

In the caption, Suraj wrote, “The Game begins From MAY 2nd in cinemas worldwide.” 

Padakkalam cast and crew

Padakkalam is helmed by debutant Manu Swaraj, and reports claim that it will be a fun-filled outing. The film began production in July 2024. 

Apart from Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharafudheen, Padakkalam also features Sandeep Pradeep, Niranjana Anoop, Ishan Shoukath, Saafboi, Arun Pradeep, Arun Ajikumar, and Pooja Mohanraj, among others. 

The film, written by Manu and Nithin C Babu, has music by Rajesh Murugesan. Anu Moothedath handles cinematography, while Nidhin Raj Arol is the editor. 

Suraj Venjaramoodu’s films

Suraj Venjaramoodu, who was last seen in Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal along with Joju George and Alencier Ley Lopez, will feature next in L2: Empuraan. Suraj’s character poster from the Mohanlal-starrer was revealed by Prithviraj Sukumaran recently. Suraj enters the Lucifer Franchise with L2E, which is slated for a grand release on March 27, 2025.

Apart from Mohanlal and Prithviraj, the movie boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, and Indrajith Sukumaran. Suraj Venjaramoodu is also a part of the upcoming Tamil film, Veera Dheera Sooran, starring Vikram.
