Suraj Venjaramoodu on the flaw in Prithviraj Sukumaran's Lucifer that landed him the role in L2 Empuraan: 'He promised he will fix it'

Prithviraj Sukumaran has been introducing Lucifer fans to various characters from the second installment on a daily basis, keeping the excitement alive. The latest character to be introduced is Suraj Venjaramoodu, who will play the role of Sajanachandran in L2 Empuraan. Not just his character no 12 in the much-awaited Mohanlal-starrer, Suraj Venjaramoodu also explained how he landed the role in L2 Empuraan by pointing out a ‘flaw’ in Prithviraj Sukumaran's Lucifer. Suraj Venjaramoodu on how he landed role Prithviraj's Empuraan

Suraj Venjaramoodu and Prithviraj Sukumaran had earlier starred in the popular Driving Licence. In his character introduction video, Suraj said that during his Driving Licence shoot days, he had pointed out to Prithviraj the ‘one flaw’ in his debut directorial Lucifer, which also starred Mohanlal.

When a surprised Prithviraj asked him what was missing in the 2019 movie, his Driving Licence co-star quipped that he (Suraj) was not a part of the movie and that he strongly felt that it was a “flaw”. Suraj Venjaramoodu then went on to explain that Prithviraj ‘conceded’ that it was indeed a “mistake” and “promised that he will fix it”.

Suraj, who made a mark with his comedy timing before transitioning to character roles, also told Prithviraj that it is not him but fans might have a problem. Prithviraj agreed to take care of it and days later, the director called Suraj and said that he is fixing the “flaw”

Back to his role in L2 Empuraan, Suraj will be seen as Sajanachandran, a political leader who is a key player in Kerala politics.

L2 Empuraan cast

L2 Empuraan is the second instalment in the Lucifer franchise and will narrate the story of Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi-Ab'raam, portrayed by Mohanlal. Director Prithviraj will also be seen as Zayed Masood, along with Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, and Fazil reprising their roles.

L2 Empuraan will have a worldwide release on March 27, 2025.
