Debutant filmmaker Bala Aran's Pandrikku Nandri Solli is the latest Tamil film to have a direct release on SonyLIV. Starring Nishanth, Vijay Sathya and Balaji Rathinam in lead roles, the dark comedy has been bankrolled by Vignesh Selvaraj under Head Mediaworks. Auto Chandran, who penned the story for Vetri Maaran's acclaimed film Visaaranai (streaming on YouTube and MX Player), is playing a crucial role in the movie.
The social media handle of SonyLIV announced the news with the post, "An extraordinary treasure hunt with mind-boggling twists and turns! Get ready to have a barrel of laughs in Pandrikku Nandri Solli, streaming soon on SonyLIV."
The makers had unveiled the film's trailer two years ago and its first look was revealed by music composer Ghibran. Vignesh Selvaraj has cranked the camera for the project which has music by Suren Vikhash. Ram and Sathish have edited the movie which has Santosh at the helm of art direction.
Chella, Viyan, Baskar and Joe Malloori, too, will be seen essaying important characters in Pandrikku Nandri Solli, the story of which revolves around a few ambitious youngsters who set out to go behind a huge sum of illegal money and a pig statue.
The film's director had earlier revealed that a mysterious pig statue which has some magical powers attached to it is the central element of the movie. The plot thickens when cops and the antagonist go behind the ambitious youngsters. Who among the three parties will be fortune enough to enjoy the money and benefits of pig statue forms the rest of the story.
According to Bala Aran, the film which follows a non-linear narrative pattern with ample black humour elements in it, will remind movie buffs of Nalan Kumarasamy's Soodhu Kavvum and Naveen's Moodar Koodam.
