In an Instagram post, Joju George confirmed that the Malayalam movie Pani is slated to have a theatrical release in May.

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Pani have confirmed that its shooting has been completed. Joju George, the recipient of a National Award, is making his directorial debut with this movie. Joju will portray the main character in the film.
In an Instagram post, the actor confirmed that the movie is slated to have a theatrical release in May. He also expressed his gratitude towards the cast and crew of Pani for their support and efforts. “My dearest audience has supported me as an actor, which gave me confidence to rise up as a director; it was a dream. With my experience, my studies, and my knowledge about cinema, I believe I did my best,” he wrote.

Malayalam Big Boss contestants Sagar Surya and Junaiz V P will also appear in important roles in the movie, which is being bankrolled by M Riaz Adam and Sijo Vadakkan. The cameraman for Pani is the director and cinematographer Venu, who made a triumphant comeback to Malayalam cinema with Joju's Pulimada.
Tamil actress M G Abhinaya is playing the female lead. Alexander Prasanth, Abhayaa Hiranmayi, Sujith Shanker, Seema, Chandhini Sreedharan, Babu Namboothiri, Ranjith Velayudhan, and Bitto Davis are among the supporting cast of the film.
There had been earlier rumours that Joju was penning a screenplay for Junaiz and Sagar, with the two of them playing lead roles. Joju and Malayalam Big Boss Season 5 winner Akhil Marar may work together on a project, according to reports. The movie, Omana, is based on actual events that happened in Akhil's neighbourhood. Joju also starred in the political satire Oru Thathvika Avalokanam, Akhil's directorial debut.
Joju George, who had a few major releases such as Thuramukham and Antony in 2023, is playing a pivotal role in Kamal Haasan’s next film, Thug Life. Dulquer Salmaan and Aiswarya Lekshmi are also among the ensemble cast of this movie, which is directed by Mani Ratnam.
