Tragic news has come just now! National Award-winning actor Pankaj Tripathi’s brother-in-law has died in a car accident in Jharkhand. The actor’s sister, who was also present in the car, is in critical condition and has been admitted to the ICU in an eminent hospital. This shocking news comes a year after Tripathi’s father passed away due to age-related issues. The actor is yet to comment on the development publicly.
Pankaj Tripathi’s brother in-law dies
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law Rajesh Tiwari was a Central Government employee and worked for the Indian Railways. The incident took place at GT Road in Nirsa around 4 PM today. Pankaj’s sister Sarita is undergoing treatment at Dhanbad Medical College Hospital.
An official statement from the hospital about the sister’s health condition is awaited.
The report in the news outlet further said that Rajesh Tiwari was allegedly travelling to Chittaranjan (a town in Jharkhand) from his village when the accident occurred, resulting in his death.
Pankaj Tripathi is a well-established actor in Bollywood. Last year, his father died due to age-related issues. An official statement from the family read, “It’s with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years.”

In October 2023, Pankaj Tripathi was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor award at the 69th National Film Awards for his outstanding performance in the film 'Mimi' in October 2023. President Droupadi Murmu presented him with the award at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. After receiving the award, Tripathi expressed his gratitude, giving credit to the entire team for the success of 'Mimi'. He thanked the jury for selecting him for the award and acknowledged the hard work of the entire team behind the film. Tripathi specifically dedicated this award to his late father.
