We had earlier reported that actor Anupama Parameswaran will be headlining the upcoming Telugu film titled Paradha. The makers on Thursday announced the release date of the film, along with releasing the Yatra Naryasthu single from the film.
Paradha is an upcoming Telugu film starring actors Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran, Sangitha and others. The film is touted to be a rural drama and is directed by Praveen Kandregula. The filmmaker's last release was horror comedy Subham, available on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. On Thursday, the makers of Paradha announced that the film will release on August 22. The Yatra Naryasthu single was also released by the makers, which has music by Gopi Sundar, and lyrics by Vanamali. Anurag Kulkarni sang the song.
The film will mark the Telugu debut of Darshana Rajendran, while Anupama is already a known face in the industry with films like Tillu Square and Karthikeya 2. Paradha is expected to be an intense drama surrounding the beliefs and regressive ideologies that persist in rural areas of India. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Paradha have been bagged by Prime Video.

Anupama, who began the year with Tamil blockbuster film Dragon opposite Pradeep Ranganathan, made a comeback to Malayalam cinema with Janaki V v/s State of Kerala. The legal drama, which released in theatres on July 17, stars the actor in the titular role, along with Suresh Gopi, Divya Pillai, Shruthi Ramachandran and others. Janaki V v/s State of Kerala was shrouded in controversy due to its title name and how it referred to the Hindu goddess. The film is written and directed by Pravin Narayanan.
Anupama also has another Tamil film, Bison, a sports drama with Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram. The film is set for Diwali release, while her other film Lockdown is yet to get a release date.
