All about Pariwar, which is releasing on March 7

In the film, as Bhaskara Pillai, is nearing his final moments, his children and extended family gather together waiting for the inevitable. But then Bhaskara Pillai holds on for dear life for longer than anyone expected, much to the chagrin of his children, who’ve already begun talking about the split of assets, while the grandchildren can’t wait to be able to play with the old man’s breathing mask.

The hilarious extents the family goes to speed up Bhaskara Pillai’s departure to the afterlife is what the comedy revolves around. At one point, one character is heard lamenting that if Bhaskara Pillai does not give up on his mortal life, his family might just kill him, while Jagadish wonders about the limits for someone to remain alive. The longer Bhaskara Pillai stays alive, the deeper the financial troubles his sons face.

Pariwar marks Jagadish’s return to the comedy genre, after a spate of serious roles in recent times, like, for instance, Rorschach, Kishkindha Kaandam, Marco, etc. The actor says that Pariwar is about the differences of opinions, conflicts, competitions, among members of a family. In fact, when the director duo approached Jagadish with the role, they said that their attention was to give him a different film and character from what he’s been doing for a while.

Pariwar will have films like Pralayashesham Oru Jalakanyaka, Ouseppinte Osyathu, Vadakkan, in competition at the Kerala box office.
