The teaser of Pathu Thala was unveiled by makers yesterday and fans of Silambarasan have been going gaga over it on social media. The star's presence and terrific background score by AR Rahman are highlights of the promo video. Movie buffs are now awaiting the second single from the film which is expected to be released soon.

At the teaser launch held yesterday, director Obeli N Krishna opened up on the movie which is considered as the remake of Kannada film Mufti, starring Shivaraj Kumar in the lead. He revealed that Pathu Thala will be an adaptation of the Sandalwood flick and not a scene-by-scene remake.

He said, "Unlike most of you assume, I would like to clarify that ours isn't a remake film. We have retained only three to four scenes from the Kannada version. We have made a lot of changes in the screenplay and have many surprises for the audience. Film lovers will get to witness a new Silambarasan"

According to him, Gautham Karthik, too, has essayed a never-before-seen role in the movie. After being skeptical about revealing a big surprise, Obeli added that Arya and Sayyeshaa will be seen enacting interesting roles in the movie.

The makers are now gearing up for a grand audio launch of Pathu Thala on March 18; many guests including Suriya are expected to attend the event. AR Rahman will be performing live at the event and his fans are already excited to watch it.

The movie will hit the screens on March 30. If everything goes well, the film will register Silambarasan's highest opening, surpassing Maanaadu which was released in 2021. The movie will have its OTT premiere on Amazon Prime around the last week of April.
