Patriot: Release date of Mammootty, Mohanlal's much-awaited film confirmed?

Social media is celebrating the grand comeback of Mammootty as the Malayalam megastar joined the sets of Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot after a seven-month break. The upcoming film, which also stars Mohanlal in a significant role, is eying a Vishu 2026 release. Before that, we will get the first glimpse of Patriot tomorrow as the makers have promised to release the teaser.

Mammootty’ Patriot to release in April 2026

The much-awaited upcoming Malayalam film Patriot, starring the stalwarts Mammootty and Mohanlal, plans to lock April 9, 2025, as its release date, as per online trackers. This means that the Mahesh Narayanan directorial would be a grand Vishu release, with the festival scheduled to be held on April 15. However, the makers have only said that the film would be a Vishu release, but have not officially confirmed the release date of Patriot.

However, it is confirmed that the teaser of Patriot would be out in less than 24 hours. Mammootty took to social media on Wednesday to announce that the teaser of Patriot, which brings together the big Ms of Malayalam, would be released at 12 noon on October 2, 2025. This has further fulled the excitement of fans who have been trending #KingIsBack with videos of the megastar in Hyderabad, the current schedule of Patriot.

The Big Ms last shared screen together in Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty as Mohanlal made a cameo appearance in Mammootty-starrer in 2013. They played key roles in the 2008 film Twenty:20. On the other hand, Mammootty's next film to release in theatres would be Kalamkaval. Online trackers have said the film could be released later in October or November this year.

Patriot ensemble cast

Not just the veterans, Patriot features one of the biggest star-studded ensemble casts with Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara too playing key roles in the film. Revathi and Darshana Rajendran are also part of the cast.

Anto Joseph has backed the much-anticipated film, which was tentatively titled MMMN. The makers are yet to announce Patriot as the film's official title.
