Peddha Kapu 1 Twitter review: Perfect comeback for Srikanth Addala, say netizens

Srikanth Addala, a filmmaker known for his feel-good romances and family dramas like Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Mukunda, reinvented himself as a storyteller with Narappa. The action drama showcased a new dimension to the director’s abilities. He’s back in action with a theatrical release, Peddha Kapu 1. The film hit screens today.

Peddha Kapu 1 charts the rise of a leader in early 1980s when NTR had begun a political party (TDP) and registered a record victory to become a CM within 11 months fielding new leaders and educated youngsters for key positions. Virat Karrna and Pragati Srivastava play the leads while Rao Ramesh, Naren, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Srikanth Addala, Tanikella Bharani essay other important roles.

After hosting a premiere for select crowds on September 27, several night shows were organised across Telugu states a day before its theatrical release. While the true verdict of audiences will be known today, the early responses of the netizens indicate that team Peddha Kapu 1 have come up with a credible product. Most of them believe that this is the perfect comeback for Srikanth Addala after a lull.

There have been unanimously positive reviews for the film with viewers particularly hailing the introduction sequence, pre-interval and the climax sequences besides its technical finesse (cinematography in particular). Some feel the film is slightly slow and that the character establishment could’ve been better. The performances are quite impressive, another netizen added.

In a few regions, Peddha Kapu 1 is witnessing low occupancy because of the absence of familiar faces, but good word of mouth could change the equation for the team. The other major releases this week - Skanda and Chandramukhi 2 - have received negative feedback from crowds, though the former is off to a fine start at the box office in Telugu states.
