Vijay Antony's directorial debut Pichaikkaran 2 is the much-awaited Tamil release this Friday. The movie, which is hitting screens in Telugu under the title Bichagadu 2, has the actor-filmmaker handling editing and music composition, too. The makers have already unveiled its trailer, songs and sneak peek videos recently.

The project has been hitting headlines ever since Vijay met with an accident during its filming in Malaysia. He underwent a major surgery and announced the film's release date as soon as he returned to normal life, leaving everyone stunned.

Kavya Thapar plays the female lead in it while Dev Gill, Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu and John Vijay essay crucial characters. Though titled Pichaikkaran 2, Vijay had clarified recently that the movie isn't a sequel to Pichaikkaran which was released in 2016. Its story revolves around a brain surgery which alters the fate of several people in the society.

Movie buffs were curious about the possibility of the film having early morning shows in Tamil Nadu considering its popularity among cinephiles. However, we hear that permission has been denied for special shows. This is in connection with a government order which was issued a few months ago.

Films like Varisu and Thunivu which were released in January for the Pongal festival enjoyed several special shows like never before. But a few days after their release, the GO was passed, denying permission for early shows for forthcoming movies. This hampered the chance of organizing such shows for Dhanush's Vaathi, Silambarasan's Pathu Thala and Mani Ratnam's most-awaited sequel Ponniyin Selvan 2.

Pichaikkaran 2's shows are expected to begin only around 10 am on Friday in most of the screens. Interestingly, the film's premiere show in the USA has been scheduled for 4 am (IST).
