Polladha Ulagam: Dhanush's effortless dance moves and GV Prakash's music stand out in this song

The makers of Maaran had officially announced a while ago that the thriller will have a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Karthick Naren, it stars Dhanush in the titular role while Malavika Mohanan will be seen essaying the female lead in it. Sathya Jyothi Films has produced the project which has Dhanush essaying a journalist's role in it.

As announced a few days ago, the team has now unveiled its first single, Polladha Ulagam, which has been composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The peppy song, which has the composer incorporating catchy sounds of various musical instruments, has been penned by lyricist Vivek.

GV, who released the song from his Twitter page, tweeted, "Presenting you the mass anthem #PolladhaUlagam video song ft. The dashing @dhanushkraja from #Maaran (sic)." Though the lyrics, which is a mix of Tamil and English, reminds us of a few other songs, GV's music and Dhanush's effortless dance moves make it a compelling track. 

Leading Tollywood choreographer Jani has choreographed moves for the song. It's been a while since fans of Dhanush have seen their favourite actor dancing in full form. Dhanush himself has crooned the four-minute song along with Arivu. Maaran will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The film's release date is expected to be announced soon by its makers, though it is speculated to premiere in February. This is the actor's third continuous movie which is skipping a theatrical release. His last outings, Atrangi Re and Jagame Thandhiram, had direct release on Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix respectively. 

Mithran Jawahar's Thiruchitrambalam is likely to be his next theatrical release. Selvaraghavan's Naane Varuven and Hollywood flick The Gray Man are other releases of the actor on which his fans have pinned high hopes on.
