The makers of the forthcoming Malayalam film, Pongala, have dropped its new release date along with a poster today (November 26). It has been confirmed that the action drama, starring Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role, will hit the big screen on November 30.
Pongala new release date
The movie, which was slated to release on October 31, was postponed due to unspecified reasons. Given that Pranav Mohanlal's Dies Irae is clearly the highly anticipated one with a popular star and a renowned director, it is reasonable to believe that Pongala wished to avoid a conflict with it in theatres. However, in contrast to the custom of releasing films on Fridays, the producers have now chosen to release the film on November 30, a Sunday.
On November 28, Sivaranjini J's highly anticipated film Victoria will be released. There won't be any more Malayalam films released in theatres this week except from these two. Dies Irae, Vilaayath Budha, and Eko are a few more recent films that are still doing well in theatres.

Pongala, an action-comedy thriller according to its makers, has not received much attention from the audience. Baburaj, Alencier, Sampath Ram, and Kichu Tellus all play significant parts in the AB Binil-directed movie. Pongala, which was mostly filmed in the Vypin–Cherai area, is described as a compelling tale with significant social and political themes.
The story, which is set in a port in the early 2000s, is based on actual events that took place along the Vypin–Munambam coast.
