The lead actors of Ponniyin Selvan 2, excluding Aishwarya Rai, are busy with promotional tours. They have been to Coimbatore, Delhi and Kochi recently, and landed at Bengaluru today morning. They will be heading to Hyderabad, Mumbai and Trichy in the coming days.

The movie is hitting the screens across the world in five languages on April 28. The advance booking in the USA began a few days ago. The film has been slotted in record number of theatres there. It is considered to be the biggest ever release for a Kollywood project in the US.

The theatres in Tamil Nadu are expected to begin booking by today evening or tomorrow. The trade is curious to know whether its day one numbers would surpass the figures registered by Ponniyin Selvan 1. Many film buffs feel that the second installment lacks hype, but there are those who opine that a positive word of mouth would help the film garner huge hype after release.

The duration of PS 2 is shorter than PS 1 and this is expected to be one of the USP of the former. However, there are those who are wondering over how Mani Ratnam would narrate the remaining story in around 150 minutes.

Meanwhile, makers have now unveiled a promo video which is going to be the intro sequence from PS 2. None other than Kamal Haasan has lent voice to sum up the sequences that unfolded in part one.

This recap aids many to summarize the content of PS 1 before they head to watch PS 2 on the next Friday. PS 1, too, began with the Ulaganayagan's voice over. He was also present at the trailer launches of both the parts and appreciated the first part after attending a special screening.
