Parthiban, who effortlessly played Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar's role in Ponniyin Selvan 1, is eagerly looking forward to its much-awaited sequel, like every other movie buff. His speech at the trailer and audio launch of the movie which was held recently entertained the crowd.

They hope that the actor-filmmaker has ample sequences in the second installment of the franchise to engage them. He has now taken to his Twitter page to inform everyone about a suggestion he has come up with to promote Ponniyin Selvan 2 which is hitting the screens on April 28.

The Iravin Nizhal filmmaker feels that it would be a good idea to release Ponniyin Selvan 1 in a few theatres before its sequel hits the screens so that cinephiles can connect sequences and emotions of both the parts easily. Interestingly, he has presented the idea to Mani Ratnam and the latter has replied to it.

The maverick filmmaker said that he is planning to make it happen on April 21. An official announcement is now expected on the same. The makers of Baahubali and KGF franchises, too, had relied on a similar strategy to keep the momentum going.

Parthiban courted controversy before the release of Ponniyin Selvan 1 when he took a dig at Dhanush's Naane Varuvean which was released a day before during a media interaction. However, he clarified recently that he never intended to make fun of anyone and that going forward he would never take the name of other films during promotional activities.

His conversation with Sarath Kumar during the trailer launch of Ponniyin Selvan 2 brought the house down. The event will be released by Lyca Productions soon.
