The makers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 have kicked off promotions recently with regular announcements and updates. Aga Naga, the first single from the much-awaited sequel, will be unveiled on Monday evening. A poster featuring Karthi and Trisha was revealed, sending fans in a tizzy.

The team has now released a short BTS video which offers a glimpse into how Karthi transformed into Vanthiyathevan, the iconic character created by Kalki in his epic novel several decades ago. It begins with the actor excitedly talking about how he moulded himself to play the most-loved character in the magnum opus.

He says, "When I wear that costume...when I get to the location and complete just one scene, it gives such a grounding for you." It is followed by a few stills of the actor clicked during the test photoshoot. A few shots of the art direction team and costume design team working together to get his look and props right is sure to give goosebumps.

Mani Ratnam is seen monitoring the actor's look and the latter ensures that he is comfortable in the costume of Vanthiyathevan. The actor's portrayal of the character was one of the highlights of Ponniyin Selvan 1.

Fans of Karthi, cinephiles and die-hard admirers of the novel are eagerly looking forward to watch Vanthiyathevan's tryst with adventure in the second installment which will be released on April 28. Like the first part, the second part, too, will drop on Amazon Prime Video post its theatrical release.

The audio launch of the project is slated to happen on March 29 in Chennai. Fans are eager to know if the makers would be unveiling its trailer as well at the event.
