One of the prime positive aspects of Ponniyin Selvan 2 is the confrontation scene between Vikram and Aishwarya Rai. The manner in which the relationship between Aditha Karikalan and Nandini has been filmed in a long sequence before the climax proves Mani Ratnam is still the best when it comes to portraying intense romance.

Both the actors are at their best in the sequence; Nandini has been longing to take revenge against Karikalan, but she unexpectedly turns fragile when she meets him. The latter, on the other hand, hates her to the core, but apologizes for his deeds when he meets her.

The fantastic sequence ends on a poignant note, leaving viewers and fans of the novel moved. Though Mani has come up with a spin in his trademark style with regard to Karikalan's character arc, there are those who are of the opinion that he shouldn't have changed the sequences in the novel.

But there is no two ways about the two actors putting up their best foot forward in the emotional and crucial scene of the movie. Vikram has now taken to his Twitter page to share something adorable about the characters he has played along with Aishwarya Rai.

Mani Ratnam's Raavanan was the first film which brought them together. The 2010 movie had them play the roles of Veera and Ragini. Interestingly, the film which also had music by AR Rahman ends on a poignant note with regard to their relationship.

Vikram posted a short video featuring himself and Aishwarya shot at the Mumbai press meet recently with the caption, "Hey Fate. Time to deal them a better hand don’t you think?! Veera X Ragini / Aditha Karikalan X Nandini #ravanan #ps2 (sic)."
