Jayam Ravi, who has been garnering positive response for his portrayal of Arunmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, has shared an unfortunate news with his fans a few hours ago. The actor has tested positive for COVID-19, and he has been following all protocols, including isolation.

He took to his social media page to inform the news and requested others who came in contact with him recently to get tested if necessary. Ravi also urged everyone to mask up and stay safe. His fans have been wishing for a speeding recovery and hope to see him back in action soon.

The actor's inclusion in the multi-starrer flick had initially raised a few eyebrows. Many expressed concern on how he could pull off the role of Chola king, but he proved them wrong with his flawless performance and well-built physique. One of the reasons for film buffs to look forward to the movie's second part is his character design.

Ravi currently has five projects in his kitty. His film with Kalyana Krishnan, titled Agilan, was likely to hit the screens in September. It is expected to be his next outing.

His movies with Rajesh (JR 30) and Antony Bhagyaraj (Siren) were launched recently. The former has Priyanka Mohan essaying the female lead while the latter has Keerthy Suresh paired opposite him. He also has two projects with director I Ahmed. Jana Gana Mana, their first collaboration, was halted owing to the pandemic.

The spy thriller has Taapsee Pannu playing one of the leads. Iraivan, starring Nayanthara in a crucial role, is the second outing of Ravi and Ahmed. The movie is slated for a release in 2023.
