The trailer of Pookie, the upcoming Tamil film starring Ajay Dhishan and Dhanusha, with Vijay Antony as producer, is now out. The romantic comedy drama is slated for theatrical release this week, as Valentine’s Day is round the corner.
Pookie trailer out: What is the romantic comedy film about?
We had earlier reported that Ajay Dhishan, nephew of composer-actor-producer Vijay Antony, is set to star in the upcoming film Pookie. Ajay had earlier made his acting debut in 2025 film Maargan, in which he shared screen space with Vijay Antony. Now, the makers of Pookie have released the film’s trailer on social media on Wednesday.
The trailer of Pookie begins with Silambarasan's voiceover, as we see the lead pair sharing some romantic moments. We also see snapshots of their lives together before they break-up. Their friends evidently do not want to be together, and before we understand if they will get together or not, the 'villain' of the story is shown to be Vijay Antony. Pookie is billed to be a romantic drama catering to the modern generation.

The cast of Pookie includes Ajay Dhishan, RK Dhanusha, Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu, Indumathi Manigandan, Aaditya Kathir, Vivek Prasanna, Black Pandi, Bigg Boss Sathya, MJ Shriram, Radha, Ashwin Ram, Shiyara Sharmi, Priyanka and others. The film is directed and shot by Ganesh Chandra, while Vijay Antony takes up the responsibilities as editor, and music composer besides producing the film. The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Puthiya Parithi.
Pookie is set to release in theatres on February 13 in time for Valentine’s Day. The film will be releasing along with another Tamil film My Lord, starring Sasikumar and directed by Raju Murugan. The post-theatrical streaming rights of Pookie have been bagged by ZEE5 and will be available on OTTplay Premium as well once the film completes its theatrical run.
