The debut season of the Norwegian horror series Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes will be available for streaming on Netflix from Wednesday, August 25.
The Scandinavian horror series follows the story of Live Hallangen, a woman found dead, but has trouble staying so. She wakes up on the autopsy table with everyone around her convinced that there was a mistake while declaring the woman dead. However, she soon realizes that coming back from the dead, she had brought along with her some strange and bizarre traits that are not entirely human. The woman along with her brother, who runs a not-so-well-to-do funeral parlor business, are tasked with finding out what caused her strange comeback, before someone else discovers her secret.
The trailer for the show takes us through some of her vampiric changes, including heightened senses, an inability to sleep at night and physical changes such as a change in her eye colour. A scene in particular suggests that such an oddity may run in her family as well, combined with the storyline and Netflix synopsis ‘she’s back from the dead and has a newfound thirst for blood. Meanwhile, her family’s funeral parlor desperately needs more business. Hmm, what if…’ gives viewers a taste of the ride they are in for - a black comedy starring a vampire guaranteed to scare and tickle your funny bones.
Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes is directed by Harald Zwart and Petter Holmsen, with the latter also serving as writer on the show. It’s cast features Elias Holmen Sørensen, Andrée Sørum and Kim Fairchild, among others.
