The upcoming episode of Netflix’s documentary series Untold, focusing on the life of Caitlyn Jenner, will premiere on Tuesday, August 24 on the streaming giant’s platform. The intriguing documentary gives viewers a close and personal look at the lives of some of the most prolific athletes as it dives deep into some significant incidents in the history of sports, touching upon both the famous and infamous ones.
The latest episode of Untold features Olympic gold winning sports personality and American socialite Caitlyn Jenner in the limelight. According to a synopsis for the episode on Netflix’s website, viewers are promised an insider perspective into not only the star's sports journey, but also her struggles in her personal life, particularly regarding her identity. “Caitlyn Jenner’s unlikely path to Olympic glory was inspirational. But her more challenging road to embracing her true self proved even more meaningful,” reads the official summary.
Jenner’s stellar sports career was dotted with memorable achievements as a decathlete. Over a span of six years, she had raked up three world records and had won gold in the 1976 Summer Olympics. Dubbed "an all-American hero" and "World's greatest athlete", her personal life also played a huge role in making her a household name, in particularly with her marriage to Kris Jenner, her appearance on the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians with her wife, children and step-children, and of course, her coming out as a trans woman in 2015.
The previous two episodes of Untold, titled Malice at the Palace and Deal with the Devil, focused on a 2004 incident involving the American basketball team Indiana Pacers; and the life of boxer Christy Martin, respectively.
