Prabhu Deva-starrer Pon Manickavel is all set to have a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. Now, another film of the multifaceted artist has grabbed the attention of film lovers. Theal, directed by Harikumar, in which he will be seen playing a ruffian, will hit the screens on December 10.
The audio launch of the movie was held recently and its trailer was also unveiled at the event before the crowd. Comali (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) fame Samyukta Hegde essays the female lead in the movie which has been bankrolled by KE Gnanavelraja of Studio Green Productions.
Vignesh Vasu has cranked the camera for the action thriller which has music by C Sathya and editing by Praveen KL. Pon Parthiban has penned the dialogues for the project which has action choreography by Anbariv. At the audio launch, Prabhu Deva revealed that he will be seen as a left-handed person in the movie.
Theal, according to him, is an intense movie with no scope in dance movements for him. He said, "This is a completely new character for me. I haven't played something like this before. I had a blast acting in Theal."
All praise for Samyukta, Prabhu said that he liked her performance in Kannada film Kirik Party (streaming on MX Player) in which she made her debut. Last seen in Devi 2 (streaming on Zee5) in Tamil, he has Adhik Ravichandran's Bagheera, Oomai Vizhigal, MS Arjun's Yung Mung Sung and lyricist-turned-filmmaker Pa Vijay's untitled project in his kitty.
It is heard that Prabhu, who last directed Radhe (streaming on Zee5), will choreograph for a couple of songs in Vijay's Thalapathy 66 directed by Vamshi Paidipally.
