Of late, Prabhu Deva has been signing films back-to-back as an actor. He has close to half-a-dozen projects in Tamil currently in his kitty. His next release is My Dear Bootham which has been helmed by N Ragavan. The makers have released two singles so far from the movie which has music composed by D Imman.

The team has now announced that the fantasy thriller will hit the screens in July, though an update on its final date is awaited. They have also revealed that Zee5 has bagged the digital rights of the film, while Zee Tamil has acquired its satellite rights.

Ramya Nambeesan, Ashwanth, Param Guhanesh, Saathvik, Sakthi and Kaesitha among others essay pivotal characters in the movie which has been produced by Abhishek Films and Ramesh P Pillai. Imman Annaachi, Bigg Boss Tamil fame Samyuktha, Suresh Menon and Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, too, will be seen in important roles in the movie.

UK Senthil Kumar has handled cinematography for My Dear Bootham which revolves around the friendship between a genie and a school student who is least interested in studies. How their bonding changes the life of the latter for good forms the crux of the story.

The film will be Prabhu Deva's second release this year after Theal (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) which was released in January. The actor-director-choreographer has Bagheera, Rekla, Jalsa, Poikkal Kuthirai, Musasi and Flash Back in his kitty, apart from long-delayed movies like Yung Mung Sung and Oomai Vizhigal.

A few days ago, the first look of the film's Telugu version was launched, and it was announced that AN Balaji of Sri Lakshmi Jyothi Creations has bagged the theatrical distribution rights for its Tollywood version.
