On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, director Prasanth Varma gave a major update about his upcoming movie titled Jai Hanuman. He revealed that the VFX-heavy movie will be released in IMAX 3D format. "On this auspicious #HanumanJanmotsav, May we all stand against all adversities and emerge victorious. Experience the epitome of Lord #Hanuman ji‘s EPIC BATTLES in IMAX 3D," he tweeted.

Prasanth Varma also unveiled a new poster for the movie, suggesting that Jai Hanuman will feature a visually fascinating battle sequence involving fire-breathing dragons. In the poster, Lord Hanuman can be seen standing at the edge of a mountain, fearlessly facing a demon dragon.

Prasanth Varma caught a huge break in his career following the release of HanuMan . The film was in production for over two years and experienced multiple production delays. Finally, the movie managed to hit the screens in January this year, coinciding with the Sankranti holiday.

HanuMan, a big hit on streaming too

Hanu-Man surprised everyone as it received an overwhelming response. It exceeded expectations in terms of box office collection. Made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, Hanu-Man went on to earn more than Rs 300 crore from its worldwide ticket sales.

Hanu-Man is touted to be the beginning of a cinematic universe rooted in Indian mythology. The film offered an origin story of a superhero, played by Teja Sajja. It tells the tale of a town clown who accidentally stumbles upon an ancient gem that grants him the powers of Lord Hanuman.

Hanu-Man ended with Lord Hanuman breaking his penance and preparing for battle to save the world and fulfil his promise to Lord Rama. The sequel is expected to hit the screens next year.

However, Prasanth Varma has not revealed the actor who will be essaying the role of Lord Hanuman in Jai Hanuman.

Not just in cinemas, Hanu-Man was also a big hit in the OTT space. The movie made its streaming debut on ZEE5 and garnered record viewership. The film is also available for streaming on OTTplay Premium .
