Preminchoddu is a low-budget film that was released on June 7, 2024. While the concept of the film was good, it did not perform well at the box office. For months, the makers struggled to secure an OTT deal for the film.

However, the film has now started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Reports suggest that Amazon paid a decent amount to acquire the OTT rights for Preminchoddu, providing some relief to the makers as the film is now available for streaming on Prime Video.

Preminchoddu – Don’t Love was produced under the Shirin Sriram Café banner and stars Anuroop Reddy, Deva Malishetti, Sarika, and Manasa in lead roles. Directed and produced by Shirin Sriram, the movie is set in a small neighbourhood and portrays a youthful love story. Interestingly, the film was released in five languages.

Based on real incidents, Preminchoddu conveys the message of avoiding love at an immature age. The film adopts a raw and rustic tone, depicting school and college-age love stories, the neglect of education due to love, and the consequences of falling in love prematurely.

Preminchoddu has a tragic ending, where the heroine, who dates two men, is shockingly killed by them. The reasons behind this are revealed in the narrative. The movie features a young cast and is decently narrated, though the emotional depth could have been much better. Those who enjoy realistic college dramas may find the film worth watching.

Preminchoddu also made headlines when the makers filed a complaint against the makers of the film Baby, alleging that their story was copied, altered, and remade as Baby. The case is currently ongoing in court. Stay tuned for more updates.
