Pride Month 2023: THIS is what Celina Jaitley wishes to tell everyone at the start of ‘Pride month’

Even though she may not be actively involved in Bollywood or in be seen in the social circles, that has not just stopped the ‘Janasheen’ lady Celina Jaitly from lending her relentless support to the LGBTQIA community. And since today marks the start of the globally celebrated ‘Pride Month’, Celina Jaitly took to social media and penned a heartfelt note on the occasion.

Celina Jaitly wrote, “1st June 2023 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH
"The gay community is not interested in making other people gay...But homophobes are interested in making others homophobic!" As someone who has dedicated most of my life towards fighting for #LGBTQIA equality as a proud, straight ally I can honestly say it has been the most soul gratifying experience of my life even though it hasn't been an easy journey. From being alienated, threatened, attacked, loosing work & draining personal finances there were times when I felt used and unappreciated massively”.

She continued, “It takes a lot of guts, grit & courage to fight for your principles and your beliefs. Even people you fight for sometimes do not appreciate your contribution but my dad encouraged me saying a soldier fights for one n all equally and with all his might. Having said that I would like to remind you all today that equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. LGBT rights are human rights. The 1st of June signifies the beginning of PRIDE MONTH”.
