The movie will be accessible on the popular OTT platform from 12 am on June 20. Since its May 9 release, the movie has done well in theatres, drawing large crowds of families. After the 2017 socio-political thriller Ramaleela, the film is reportedly the actor's lone highest-grossing film.
Pavi Caretaker, Thangam, and Subharathri were among the C.I.D. Moosa star's earlier films that fell short of both audience and box office expectations. Some are still not available on OTT. Prince and Family might be considered a successful comeback for the actor in this regard. After 25 days in theatres, the Dileep-starring film made about Rs 16 crore, mostly from word-of-mouth publicity.
The protagonist of the film is Prince Chakkalakkal, who is single and the sole provider for his family. He feels lonely and depressed because he finds it difficult to find a life partner. However, a proposal from a marriage website quickly upends Prince's and his loved ones' lives. Prince and Family starts off by demonstrating the Ishtam star's ability to handle humour, but in the second half, it gradually changes focus to talk about the drawbacks of social media.
According to OTTplay's review, director Binto Stephen has revived Dileep in a role that Malayalis have always enjoyed seeing him play in Prince and Family. Watching the actor play a laid-back role, similar to his previous roles, is entertaining. Siddique, Bindu Panicker, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Johny Antony, Manju Pillai and Raniya play pivotal roles in this family entertainer, which is bankrolled by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames.
