Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently going through an excellent phase in his acting career, with the back-to-back successes of Aadujeevitham and Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. The actor-filmmaker, who has a massive line-up of upcoming films, is currently busy with the shooting of his third directorial venture L2 Empuraan, which stars Mohanlal in the lead role. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Cue Studio, Guruvayoorambala Nadayil director Vipin Das confirmed that he is set to team up with Prithviraj Sukumaran again, for a family drama.
Director Vipin Das, who recently had a chat with The Cue Studio, confirmed that he is set to team up with Prithviraj Sukumaran, yet again. Earlier, the popular Malayalam actor hinted at the same in a promotional interview with Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. As per the recent updates, the actor-director duo’s next outing will go on floors only in 2025, after both Prithviraj and director Vipin wrap up their current commitments. The untitled project is expected to have an official launch, once things are finalized.
Vipin Das, who opened up about his next outing with Prithviraj Sukumaran, confirmed that it is not a big-scale film like Guruvayoorambala Nadayil. Instead, the actor-director duo is teaming up for a simple family drama, which is made on a smaller scale. Interestingly, the Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey fame director stated that he wants to place the popular actor, who has been playing larger-than-life characters for a very long time, in the backdrop of a middle-class family. Vipin Das confirmed that Prithviraj will be shedding his mass hero image for the film, which is touted to be a family drama with humour elements.
The celebrated actor-filmmaker is expected to wrap up the shooting of his third directorial venture, L2 Empuraan, by mid-2024. Later, he will complete the pending shooting of Vilayath Buddha, the much-awaited project that was delayed after the actor met with an accident on the sets while shooting an action sequence. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who will start shooting for Salaar 2 this year, is also expected to team up with Khalid Rahman and RDX director Nahas Hidayath, for his upcoming films.
