The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film, Private, has dropped an update on its release date today (July 17). The movie, which stars Indrans and Meenakshi Anoop in lead roles, will hit the big screen on August 1.

The main cast of the film had shared posters hinting at an update soon. Meanwhile, they posted a new poster revealing its title and characters played by Indrans and Meenakshi, along with a release date. If premiered on the said date, Private will run in theatres along with Arjun Ashokan's horror thriller, Sumathi Valavu, and Kathir's Malayalam film, Meesha.

Annu Antony is also playing a pivotal role in this project, which is directed by debutante Deepak Deon. The director has written the screenply for this film. V K Shabeer has bankrolled the movie under the banner of C Factor The Entertainment Company. Aswin Sathya has composed the music for the film, in which Jaya Krishna is the editor. Faisal Ali has handled the camera work. Further details on the rest of the cast and a trailer is expected in the coming days ahead of its theatrical release. The genre of the movie has not been revealed, raising anticipation for it.
Meenakshi, who rose to fame with being a part of popular reality shows, is widely recognised for her performance in Amar Akbar Anthony. The comedy drama is streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. She recently appeared in Officer On Duty. Indrans played a pivotal role in Malayalam web series, Kerala Crime Files 2, which is available on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium. He plays CPO Ambili Raju in the web series, which also stars Harisree Ashokan, Sirajudheen Nazar, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Lal and Aju Varghese. Indrans had also appeared in a number of films such as Rekhachithram and United Kingdom of Kerala. Reports claim he will play a important character in Suriya's upcoming film, Karuppu.
