Priya Bhavani Shankar's thriller flick to have a direct-to-OTT release around Christmas

Looks like Priya Bhavani Shankar, who has almost a dozen films in her kitty, is ready for her next direct-to-OTT release. Earlier this year, she had Kasada Tabara and Oh Manapenne, which had a direct release on SonyLIV and Disney+ Hotstar respectively a few months ago. 

Her movie directed by Sarjun KM is expected to have a release on Zee5 around the festival of Christmas. According to a source, the movie is likely to have its OTT premiere on December 24. Though an official announcement is yet to be made on the film's title, we have got to know that it has been titled Blood Money.

Billed as a mystery thriller which revolves around a murder, Priya Bhavani Shankar, who plays the lead in it, will be seen essaying the role of a TV reporter. How she finds out certain shocking revelations about the murder forms the crux of the story. The project marks her debut female-centric film.

Metro Shirish, too, plays a significant role in the movie; he will be seen as Priya's aide in it. A lion's share of the movie's shooting was held at Rameswaram, apart from a few portions shot at Chennai.  

Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Lawrence's Rudhran, Ashok Selvan's Hostel, SJ Surya's Bommai, Silambarasan's Pathu Thala and Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam are a few projects Priya currently has in her kitty. 

Kuruthi Aattam, in which she is sharing screen space with Atharvaa, will hit the screens on December 24. Arun Vijay's Yaanai, in which she plays the female lead, is expected to have a theatrical release in February 2022. Sarjun's last outing was Thunintha Pin for Netflix's Navarasa.
