Priyanka Chopra Jonas to produce the documentary ‘Born Hungry’

According to news outlet Deadline, Melbar Entertainment Group and Purple Pebble Pictures have announced a partnership, bringing together actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas' Purple Pebble Pictures and the production team behind Barry Avrich's upcoming documentary, Born Hungry.

“The story immediately captivated me, presenting a stunning opportunity to not only showcase India but to also capture his journey and his profound passion for finding his family and himself,” said Chopra.

What is the documentary about?

Born Hungry is expected to be a compelling true story about an abandoned Indian boy. He wandered India's vast railway system, ending up far from home. Sash Simpson, a renowned chef, survived harsh times on Chennai's streets, eating from garbage bins. A kind Canadian couple rescued him and adopted him. Now, with scattered memories, Sash sets out on an emotional journey to find his birth family in India.

Why was Priyanka Chopra in the news recently?

On March 14, Priyanka Chopra and her daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, came to Mumbai. Four days later, Nick Jonas joined them, though he arrived somewhat late because of work commitments. The family toured several Indian cities, including Ayodhya (where they visited the newly built Ram Temple), Delhi (where they celebrated Holi with their loved ones), and Mumbai (where they fulfilled personal and professional obligations). Their trip lasted around 17 days.
