Actor Priyanka Chopra is a global icon now, but one of her outings during her humble beginnings traces back to the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan when she was just a newcomer. Starring opposite an already established actor like Vijay, the film marked Priyanka's one and only Tamil film so far. However, that being said, the film indeed was a marking point for Priyanka, which was revealed by her mother Madhu Chopra in a recent interview.

Vijay and Priyanka Chopra are big stars now, who have crafted their own paths to success and stardom. But it was way back in 2002 when the stalwarts featured in the Tamil action drama Thamizhan, directed by then debutant Majith.

When Vijay was already an established hero, and Priyanka Chopra a newbie, the latter’s mother in a recent podcast to PinkVilla said, “Such a good person he is. We were intimidated at first, to have a small child like her act opposite a big star like him. But he was very kind to her. He was her mentor first and let her lose out her fear and earn courage. He is an excellent dancer, and despite difficult steps, we were very well looked after. It was good old days.”
