Netflix on Thursday confirmed the digital premiere date of the latest Malayalam movie Pulimada. Starring Joju George and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles, Pulimada will become available for streaming on November 23.

Usually, all new South releases at least take four weeks to arrive on the OTT platforms after their initial theatrical debut. However, Pulimada is hitting the streaming sooner than usual. The film was first released in cinemas on October 26.

Pulimada didn't make much of a dent at the box office despite the presence of some significant talents in its star cast. Filmmaker A. K. Sajan has written and directed Pulimada and it seems to have all the elements of a psychological thriller that are usually present in the director's filmography.

Based on the trailer, it seems Pulimada is a thriller that deals with the subject of mental illness. Joju George plays the role of a police constable named Vincent Scaria, whose main duty is to protect the world-famous Yakshi sculpture. The job doesn't sound interesting enough, does it? However, Vincent seems to be content with his job and his life in the hilly town of Kerala. You can see he's trying to make the best out of the life given to him by trying to have fun as much as he can. He seems to be in good company of family and friends and has a secured job and a picturesque backyard. He is also set to get married. What more does a man need to live a fulfilling life?

It seems Pulimada revolves around the lack of awareness around the issue of mental illness and the stigma surrounding the subject. It's safe to assume that Vincent's neighbours believe that he may have inherited some mental issues from his mother. And Vincent's seemingly peaceful life spirals out of control in a blink of an eye.

Aishwarya Rajesh seems to play the role of a Tamil-speaking guardian angel in Vincent's life. The film also stars Chemban Vinod Jose, Lijomol Jose, Jaffar Idukki, Johny Antony and Balachandra Menon.
