It looks like the Independence Day holiday in 2024 is going to witness one massive clash at the box office. With Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 makers just confirming the release on August 15, 2024, it looks there will be a triangular clash among Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Ajay Devgn's Singham 3 and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 on the occasion.
Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 has the actor playing the dreaded red sandalwood smuggler named Pushpa Raj. The film is directed by Sukumar, and stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, who will be reprising their characters, Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the egoistic police officer. A poster of Allu Arjun, which was released earlier, features the actor in a godwoman-like avatar. Music for the film is by Devi Sri Prasad. Mythri Movie Makers is handling the production.
Meanwhile, there is a strong buzz that Kamal Haasan's vigilante thriller, Indian 2, is likely to hit screens for August 15, 2024. The latest we hear is that the team is targeting the Independence Day weekend, considering the film revolves around patriotism. The film is said to mark the end of the franchise. Kamal Haasan will be back in his iconic character, vigilante and freedom fighter Senapathy. The film has an ensemble cast. Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies are bankrolling the film.
Singham 3 once again has Ajay Devgn in the titular role. The film is in its pre-production stage at the moment. Rohit Shetty had earlier revealed that Ajay Devgn was quite happy with the script. The first film in the franchise dropped in 2011, which was a remake of the Tamil film titled Singam, starring Suriya and directed by Hari. This was followed by Singham Returns (2014). Meanwhile Ajay Devgn is now all set to begin work on Singham 3, the third film in the franchise. Shetty had stated that the third film will be bigger and better.
