Ever since AI entered Indian cinema, there is one question on everybody’s mind. The question is – can AI really take over and change the way we look at films? Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who was a part of Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor’s Raanjhanaa, spoke to OTTplay at length about how he has felt after AI affected him closely. The actor remains optimistic in the matter and is sure that the latest technology cannot replace art.
Ask Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub about AI taking over cinema and the whole gravitation towards the new technology and the actor states, “The people who will be most affected by AI would be technicians. It is very unfortunate. I don't believe technology has its own benefits. Maybe it has, but it should be there to help people and not to take away their jobs. That is what I believe in.”
Soon to be seen in the web series Real Kashmir Football Club, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is of the belief that art is where people need to shift their focus. He believes that it is what makes an individual different from another. The actor is certain that if more people focus on art, then they could avoid being replaced by the new form of technology.
“Art won't get affected too much by AI. Art is individualistic. It can never be copied. Perfection is a scientific term. You always crave for perfection, but the beauty of art is that you can never be perfect. Everything has something missing and that void is what creates the attraction with the audience. Whether it be painting, music or plays, it is individualistic. We need to focus on that,” the Raanjhanaa actor promises.

Assuring that AI can beat money-minded people but not artists, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub adds, “VFX, grandeur and people who only focus on money will get affected by AI. If you earn but do not focus on art in your film, then that job can be taken over by AI. When you make a human story and it requires that human touch, like drama with a different intensity - that is beautiful. An artist can always bring something new to the scene. They can do unimaginable things. There are many actors who can bring such a refreshing change. AI will never be able to beat art. It's not possible.”
