Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, has done outstandingly well at the box office during its theatrical run. From fans to critics and celebrities, the film received love and praise from everyone. The thriller drama stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor. After more than one month, the film is now available for streaming on an OTT platform.
Those who have missed watching Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's Raid 2 in theatres can enjoy the movie on Netflix now. The film was released in cinemas on May 1, 2025.
Raid 2 follows IRS officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgn), who investigates a powerful and corrupt politician, Dada Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh). The latter is involved in a massive black money racket. Despite facing suspension and threats, Amay maintains his stubbornness, which leads to him uncovering evidence against Dada Bhai. The story takes a twist by re-introducing Tauji (Saurabh Shukla) from the first "Raid" film, which adds further complexity and tension. The film discusses justice, corruption, and how much one must do to protect their reputation.
This film also highlights the lengths to which people will go to protect their reputation and maintain power, even if it means resorting to deception and trickery.
The cast features Ajay Devgn as Amay Patnaik, an IRS officer, Riteish Deshmukh as Dada Bhai, the corrupt politician, Saurabh Shukla as Tauji, a character from the first film who returns in the sequel, Vaani Kapoor, and others.
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Raj Kumar Gupta was asked whether he is thinking of making Raid 3 or not. The filmmaker said, “It’s too early, as we always intend to say a good story and then wait to see if audiences like it. Raid 2 will decide if it has the legs to go to Raid 3,” he answers, adding further that he is yet to decide on his next feature film. “There are multiple scripts, but let’s see which one comes together.”
He also told Firstpost that although he wrote the scene of Tauji (Saurabh Shukla) and Dada Manohar Bhai (Riteish Deshmukh) shaking hands before going to jail in Raid 2, it could have started as an idea for Raid 3.
